Located on the slope of this City of Monona Park, these 2 linear mounds are all that remains of the subgroup of 4 linears that, in turn, was part of Tompkins-Brindler/Nichols mound group that used to stretch south-west for almost half mile. The combined group used to have 13
or 14 linear mounds and one conical. The Nichols part of this group has since been completely destroyed.
Two linear mounds in the park are in pretty good shape and are taken care of. Just couple of years ago I saw lots of brush and logs lying
on top of these mounds and pedestrian path used to cross one of the linears. The path has since been re-routed and brush removed.
