Smith Park Mounds
(Smith Park Group, Doty Mounds)

 
    Originally, this group had 16 mounds (17 by some accounts) stretching across Doty Island all the way from Smith park to Doty Park in the City of Menasha. Today, only 3 panthers left. The mounds, located at the southern end of the park, are in good condition, but subject to
being mowed (although, according to the City of Menasha, the mowing over the mounds is less frequent than the surrounding landscape).

    While in Menasha, you might want to visit Heckrodt Wetland Reserve. The reserve has an outdoor exposition on Native American
Mounds, complete with replicas of turtle, deer and conical mounds (see below).
