Pilgrim Center Mounds

(Carlsruhe, or Carlsbad Group)

United Church Pilgrim Center is located on the southern shore of Green Lake in Green Lake County. The place is a private property,

but people there are very kind and allow strangers to look at the mounds. The only obvious mound is right by the main parking lot

and is fairly obvious. There is a large tree growing out of its body. The gentleman I was talking to at the Pilgrim Center was keenly

aware that the tree is in poor shape, and that it needs to be taken down soon to avoid it possibly falling on its own and ripping large

chunk out of the mound's fabric. There are possible mounds up on top of the hill, overlooking Powell Creek, but I couldn't be certain

they were not just leftovers from other human activity.
