Forest Hill Cemetery Mounds
(Cemetery Woods Group)
National Register of Historic Places

Generally in good condition, this group features 2 very well preserved water spirits, or panthers (one had its tail slightly damaged),
one linear and one goose. The goose had its head cut off during the construction of a railroad in the 19th century. On top of that,
recently created by pedestrian traffic path further damaged the effigy's neck. In the past, the group had 3 more linear mounds that
were destroyed at the beginning of the 20th century. The group gets mowed along with the rest of the cemetery. It would benefit the
further preservation of these mounds if the practice stops and native grasses are grown on the mounds.
