Three mounds remain protected in this Waukesha city park. According to a plaque, there used to be 411 mounds in the Waukesha
county and 55 in the city. Mounds are in decent shape, but the biggest one was excavated at the time when it was normal to dig into
the mounds. The biggest issue for these mounds nowadays is that they get mowed with the rest of the park and walked on by crowds
of people during performances. If you live in Waukesha, please lobby your local government to stop doing that and adhere to the
Mound Maintenance Protocol for the State of Wisconsin.
