Baraboo River Mounds

    It's very hard to find this group. It lies on the south side of County Road W, couple miles or so east of Baraboo, on the forested land belonging to DNR. The land is totally unmarked, though, with nothing indicating it's a public property, let alone that it harbors this

mound group. The mounds are in average condition, being located in the woods, with trees and shrubs growing on and near them, and

one effigy's head damaged in the past. The group, consisting of three bears, would benefit from some brush clearing and general TLC.
